A plum tree spirit named Troubadour, Urd's former lover, suddenly appears at the Temple.

Summary

Skuld dresses Keiichi up in women's clothing to complement the couple of new additions to his body, though he suspects she is just playing around with him. While they're busy, Urd is outside and admiring the plum tree blossoms, as they remind her of her old lover, a plum tree spirit. She wonders why she still thinks of him despite him dumping her, but she remembers she had heard a rumor that he may come to Earth. Then, wondering about Keiichi, she takes a look at him and can't contain her laughter at his appearance. While Belldandy says she can't do anything to help Keiichi, Urd says she can make an antidote, though it'll take some time since he swallowed many different things.

Urd suddenly notices the plum tree blossoms swirling around them, and she rushes outside to find the plum tree spirit himself, Troubadour. As she finds herself in his embrace, Troubadour tells her that he has come all this way so that he can share his love with her again. However, Urd pushes him away and tells him to leave, because she's not desperate enough to go back to the man who dumped her. As she walks away, Keiichi asks Urd if she'll work on the antidote, but she says she won't do it now because it would be a bad idea to let Troubadour know that she's living with another man. As she tells Keiichi, Troubadour can be incredibly jealous, so much so that he made insects grow out of the last minor god that tried hitting on her.

On cue, Troubadour tells Urd about the rumor he heard about her living with a man, and he accuses Keiichi of being that man. Urd improvises and flashes Keiichi's breasts at Troubadour to prove that he is a woman. While he is still confused, he decides to believe Urd and wants to stay since there's no one standing between them.

Inside the Temple, Keiichi is mad that Urd made Troubadour stay with them, but Urd mentions that Troubadour is dangerous because she was never able to know what he was really thinking, and she suspects he has an ulterior motive for being here. That is indeed the case, as outside, Troubadour holds the item he dumped Urd to search for, a scroll allowing him to summon the Bush Warbler, but he needs a goddess's tear of love to unlock it. As he waits, he takes out his harp and begins playing.

While fixing Urd's TV, Skuld asks her why she and Troubadour broke up, and Urd reluctantly says that it was because he chose to pursue his dreams over her. Skuld then asks if she would consider going away with him, and Urd immediately tells her that she couldn't care less about anyone who left her. Suddenly Troubadour bursts through the TV screen while singing a love song for Urd, which annoys both her and Skuld.

Troubadour continues to annoy Urd by suddenly appearing near her with his songs. At one point, she is about to take a bath when she gets a bad feeling about it and decides to wait until later. Keiichi then enters the bath and undresses just as Troubadour appears from the bathtub. Seeing Keiichi's naked body makes him realize that he and Urd had tricked him before and threatens to unleash bugs inside his body with a song, but Belldandy barges through and Urd appears, smacking him on the back of his head. As she does so, Troubadour drops a ring that Urd had gifted him long ago, the memories of which cause her to tear up.

Seizing the opportunity, Troubadour manages to collect a tear with the scroll and unlock it, and he explains to the others that it had been his quest to search for the Golden Bush Warbler so that he may have it sing at his command (as it's a requirement for him to move up as a plum spirit). However, Urd is not happy Troubadour played with her emotions and shocks him with lightning.

The next day, Troubadour sings a wonderful song and summons the Golden Bush Warbler, but he is surprised at how large the bird is. When it sings, Troubadour asks Urd if he likes him, but Urd says she actually liked his songs better. While he is distracted by heartbreak, the Warbler suddenly grabs the summoning scroll and flies off. Before Troubadour can pursue it, Urd gives him back the ring, saying that while it hurts that he chose a bird over her, she doesn't want him to forget how to dream. As he flies away, she calls him an idiot for holding onto her gift, while ironically revealing the armband that she received from him long ago.

Before she can reminisce too much, Keiichi desperately asks Urd to work on the antidote for his body.
