Skuld discovers that her talent for magic is linked to her love for Sentaro, the boy who taught her how to ride a bicycle.

Summary

Belldandy has Skuld attempt to develop her magical abilities by having her lift a small nut off the ground, but she is unable to do so. Skuld thinks she just doesn't have the talent for it, but Urd lifts a rock in front of her and says that she's yet to do her basic homework on magic. Belldandy agrees and reminds Skuld of how hard she worked to learn to ride a bicycle, and Skuld tries again, only to be interrupted by Sentaro, the boy who helped teach her earlier.

Sentaro has been coming over to their home every single day to show off a new trick he learned with his bicycle, and to Skuld's annoyance, today is no exception. Today's trick is him able to hop his bicycle on top of a large rock withing falling, and when Belldandy asks how he can do it, Sentaro says that he just loves doing it. Hearing him say that makes Skuld's heart jump, as it has been lately, but she tells herself to focus on her training and she tries again with the nut in her hands behind her back. Sentaro notices that her face has suddenly gotten red, but while Skuld claims that she doesn't have a heatstroke (a remark that confuses him), she realizes that the nut is floating in the air!

Inside, Skuld shows off her newfound magic to Keiichi, and Belldandy tells her that a goddesses' power comes from their love of others. For the next few days, Skuld continues spending time with Sentaro and her abilities slowly grow more powerful. Eventually, Sentaro asks Skuld where she goes to school, and she says she doesn't go to any around here, which makes him assume she attends an international school He then falls off his bike again, but unlike last time, when Skuld was worried about his bike being damaged, she's worried about the scratch on his forehead and tells him to have Belldandy look at it.

While he wanders away, Skuld inspects Sentaro's bicycle and notes all of the scratches that are on it. She wants Sentaro to ride a beautiful bike, and she starts to swell with magic. Meanwhile, Sentaro immediately feels better after Belldandy puts a bandage over his forehead. Skuld then arrives on his bicycle, only it lacks any of the scratches it had before. Skuld assumes Sentaro will be happy with what she did to his bike, but he's actually shocked and angry with her.

Later, Skuld feels frustrated with how Sentaro was mad at her, and Keiichi tells her that the scratches on Sentaro's bike represented the memories he'd accumulated over time, similar to diary entries and that he was upset because Skuld erased those memories. She says she doesn't understand anything and runs outside, only to be met by Belldandy, who wants to assume that she has fallen in love with Sentaro. While Skuld denies it, Belldandy nonetheless tells her that getting to love someone means experiencing the joy of discovering the things you have in common with another person as well as the differences to create a new world together. Skuld feels that she understands how she hurt Sentaro and Belldandy advises her to use a certain magical word on him.

Urd tells Skuld to find Sentaro near the river in town, where he is in the middle of performing a trick on his bike. He messes up and is about to make a huge wipeout when Skuld appears through water and unleashes her full magical power to prevent him from hitting the ground. She rushes over to him and asks if he's okay, and then she says she's sorry for what she did to his bike earlier. However, Sentaro tells her that only one of those scratches on his bike really mattered to him and thanks her for fixing up his bike.

While Sentaro is unwilling to say which scratch mattered to him one, he means that scratch he got when he first met Skuld. But more importantly, Skuld finds that Belldandy, Urd, and Keiichi were all spying on them from some nearby bushes!
