Keiichi and Belldandy's hands remain stuck together from the previous day, just as Keiichi is supposed to start working for Chihiro at Whirlwind.

Summary

Keiichi wakes up and moves his arm to check the time on his wristwatch when he finds Belldandy's hand still attached to his, despite Urd claiming they'd be freed by now. As Belldandy wakes up, he tries flailing their hands around but only makes her fall on top of him. While he thinks that being attached to Belldandy isn't so bad, Skuld finds them in their awkward position and slaps the word "pervert" on his face.

Keiichi and Belldandy show the problem to Urd, who ponders whether Belldandy's wish came from her heart. Belldandy regrets how she can't remember anything of what happened yesterday, otherwise, she'd be able to fix everything herself, but Urd tells her to not dwell on the past and focus on fixing the problem.

Urd brings out a liquid vial whose contents and sprays it on Belldandy and Keiichi's hands. On her instruction, Keiichi places his right hand below Belldandy's hand and slides his left hand free. While Urd accidentally admits that she used a virus program to try and crash Belldandy's spell system, Skuld tries separating Keiichi from her sister, but it turns out that now, Keiichi's right hand is stuck to Belldandy's hand! Urd tries again by using the entire vial's worth but still fails to separate them, while Skuld's offer to use a "matter separator" (a knife) is turned down.

Keiichi suddenly realizes that being attached to Belldandy has downsides when he needs to use the toilet, making Belldandy awkwardly stand outside the bathroom. However, things look up again when Belldandy tells him that once a day, goddesses like her need to perform their "ablutions"—better known as bath time. Of course, Skuld will not let Keiichi bathe with Belldandy and makes him wear a ribbon over his eyes so he can't see her while she bathes. Even so, he vividly imagines Belldandy as she washes every part of her body and revels at the thought of her being naked in front of him. Just when he shakes his head to get his mind off that, the ribbon slips off his eyes, and Skuld knocks him out with a big mallet before he can see too much.

Keiichi experiences a weird dream where he is seemingly about to be married to Belldandy in a chapel (with Tamiya as the priest) when his bride turns into Chihiro, who puts a dog collar on him. Even worse than that (as well as Sora still being a giant) is seeing Belldandy leave him, and Keiichi wakes up and imagines his hand stuck to Belldandy's being the same as Chihiro's dog collar.

He and Belldandy take a train into town when he confides to her that it's his fault that the two of them are stuck together, as he felt like his life was changing too fast with him getting a job— meaning they'll have to spend more time apart—and he wished for them not to be separated. While he blames himself for not being more grown up, Belldandy tells him not to be ashamed of what he did and that the real shameful thing would be to let fear stop one from moving forward in their life, and she's confident that Keiichi will be able to follow through and move on with his life. Keiichi agrees with her assessment, but now he's worried that other people will assume they're married because they're holding hands.

They arrive at Whirlwind and find that everyone is still there and passed out from the party, but thankfully, Sora is back to her normal size, and everyone is too dazed when they wake up to think too much about Keiichi and Belldandy holding hands. Chihiro kicks everyone out who isn't willing to stay and work for her (for minimum wage), and Chihiro mistakenly sees Belldandy staying with Keiichi as her accepting her job offer. While both Belldandy and Keiichi agree to the proposal, their hands suddenly free themselves.

As the two of them get to work cleaning the mess from last night's party, Belldandy tells Keiichi that she also wanted to stay with Keiichi, and she's ashamed of her selfishness and believes herself to be a failed goddess. Keiichi tells her that wanting to be happy isn't selfish and that in the end, whenever they hold hands, it's only because they want to.

When they arrive home, they're glad that they're not forced to hold hands anymore, as Urd and Skuld were prepared to use another potion and a chainsaw respectively to free them.
