Kosuke Fujishima is the creator, author and illustrator of Oh My Goddess!.
Born in Chiba, Japan on July 7, 1964, Fujishima first came to public attention as an editor of Puff magazine, his first job after completing high school. He originally intended to be a draftsman, but took the editorial role after failing to get a drafting apprenticeship. He later became an assistant to manga artist Tatsuya Egawa (best known as the creator of Golden Boy) during the production of his series Making Be Free!. In 1986 Fujishima began his first original manga series You're Under Arrest!, which ran for seven volumes and spawned a series of anime adaptations in the 1990s and 2000s. His second manga series Oh My Goddess!, released two years later in 1988, proved more successful and turned Fujishima into a household name in Japan.
Fujishima is well-known for his love of automobiles and motorcycles, and several of his series and their characters reflect this, such as in éX-Driver and Oh My Goddess!. He owns a Krauser Domani, the same vehicle used by Chihiro Fujimi. He is also an avid collector of plastic vehicle models, particularly miltiary aircraft and armored vehicles ranging from World War II to the present day. [2] Fujishima is currently married to Nekomu Otogi, formerly a famous cosplayer who once dressed up as Peorth—one of his own characters.[3]
With the conclusion of Oh My Goddess!, Fujishima's latest ongoing work is the motorcycle racing manga Toppu GP, with fourteen volumes as of 2025. Besides manga, Fujishima has worked as character designer for video game series such as Sakura Wars and Tales.
