The Motor Club embarks on a treasure hunt on campus that sparks the interest of both Chihiro as well as Tamiya and Otaki.

Summary[]

Chihiro tells the motor club that they'll be cleaning out the old clubhouse. Keiichi is reluctant to do so as she shows Chihiro how the club is almost broke as it is, but Chihiro says that it's all the more reason they should clean, as they might find valuable treasure. She also tells Tamiya and Otaki, both of whom are hiding nearby, that they will help them too, and they soon run out of sight. Keiichi wonders why they're scared of Chihiro but is too afraid to ask her about it.

At the old clubhouse, Sora Hasegawa thinks there's nothing valuable to be found here, but Belldandy thinks every scrap here is a piece of a dream. She then finds a piggy bank, but it only has ¥325 inside of it. Right afterward, Keiichi trips on a broom and accidentally breaks a picture frame as he falls, but they find what looks like a treasure map inside the frame. Tamiya and Otaki immediately get worried, but Chihiro quickly gets them back to work. Belldandy senses that the treasure map leads to something very valuable and Chihiro decides that they will search for it. Meanwhile, Tamiya and Otaki—who originally buried the treasure—sneak outside and agree that they must seize the treasure first, but they don't remember where it is.

The treasure map consists of a sheet of paper with a series of numbers written (and a speaker symbol) and a couple of others that don't show a discernable map. Sora tries to make sense of the numbers on a calculator but can't come up with anything. Nonetheless, the motor club heads to campus to try and find something, but they discover everyone is also searching for the treasure with copies of the map! It turns out that Tamiya and Otaki are selling these copies at ¥500 a piece under the belief that they can find the treasure faster if they make everyone do all the work for them.

Back at the clubhouse, Keiichi can't come up with anything when Belldandy discovers that the papers overlap into a discernable map, with a starting point at a "whale". The map is referring to the whale that is part of the "Quad" water fountain on campus. Upon reaching the fountain, they then head to a particular building and realize their destination is buried somewhere inside, which they must discern from the sheet of numbers. Sora again fails to make a breakthrough, but Belldandy gives everyone a lesson in applied cryptography and demonstrates how these numbers make certain letters when typed on a calculator. The decoded cipher spells out "LABOKAKUTA", or the Kakuta Labs.

They reach the lab and realize the speaker symbol refers to the room's intercom speaker. Keiichi takes it apart and finds a small, locked box inside. Belldandy unlocks it and finally reveals the treasure to everyone, but their cheering is muted when all they discover are two rings. Keiichi thinks they don't look very valuable, but Belldandy senses that glow with love and takes hold of them herself.

Belldandy meets Chihiro on the roof and shows her the rings, both of which have her name engraved in them. She reveals that these rings were offered to her by Tamiya and Otaki, but as she couldn't decide between the two of them, she had them play strip rock-paper-scissors until they were naked! However, she decided that for the good of the Motor Club, she wouldn't choose either of them and still doesn't regret that decision. However, she thinks it's weird that Tamiya and Otaki still act goofy around her, and Belldandy tells her it's because they still love her and fear they can't control their emotions. Chihiro calls Belldandy a romantic and says that she herself is too old to be a girl in love like her, but Belldandy disagrees.

Back at ground level, Chihiro finds Tamiya and Otaki and makes them give her all the money they made selling copies of the treasure map. She also shows them their rings which she now wears on her ring finger, calling them her "war trophies". She looks back at Belldandy on the roof and gives her a thumbs up, knowing that "a woman in love is a girl forever".

Meanwhile, the mob of people who bought treasure maps continues fruitlessly searching for it long into the night.
