Belldandy seeks answers as to what happened in the past between her and Peorth that causes Peorth to resent her.
Summary
Belldandy sits by herself on a rainy day at the Temple with a troubled look on her face. Keiichi, Urd, and Skuld watch her and wonder what had happened to make her act like this. Skuld accuses Keiichi of having done something and threatens to blow him up with a bomb, and Urd teases him with a syringe of truth serum she's dangling around.
Of course, Belldandy is still concerned about what Peorth told her earlier, but she is unable to remember "that moment" in the past where she supposedly hurt her feelings. She goes to Urd for help, and they along with Skuld and Keiichi sit down in Urd's room, where Belldandy requests a drug that will help her remember what she had done to Peorth. Urd brings out a jar of confessional pills, designed to make people confess to crimes they have committed, and Belldandy swallows one of them. Ten minutes later, however, Belldandy is unable to remember anything. Urd tests her pill on Skuld and makes her confess to a couple of petty crimes, proving that Belldandy legitimately doesn't remember what happened between her and Peorth.
Seeing that the only way to learn what had happened is to ask Peorth directly, Urd and Skuld capture her with one of Skuld's net traps, but in their struggle, Urd accidentally injects Skuld with her truth serum instead of Peorth, making her confess to even more petty crimes.
Realizing that Belldandy doesn't know what happened in the past, Peorth confronts her in her room and asks for her to come outside. In the courtyard, she asks Belldandy to face her in the "Triple Challenge of the Goddesses" which Urd explains to Skuld is an ancient tradition among goddesses which is hardly used anymore. As Peorth proposes, if Belldandy wins, Peorth will tell her what happened in the past, but if Peorth wins, Belldandy will become her servant. Belldandy accepts the challenge and Urd, as the oldest goddess present, will oversee the competition.
For the first challenge, Urd orders Peorth and Belldandy to summon their angels—symbiotic beings who serve as companions to their goddess—Gorgeous Rose and Holy Bell, and the two angels engage in a tickle fight. While Urd comments that this is exactly why nobody does this challenge anymore, the tickle fight proves difficult for both goddesses, as they can feel everything their angels can. Eventually, Peorth laughs first and loses the challenge.
The second challenge is a whack-a-mole contest, but as Belldandy is unwilling to harm such cute creatures, she loses the round by default. The final challenge is the Pinpoint Meteor Strike, where both goddesses summon meteors from space to hit a ringed target on the ground, and whoever hits the bullseye first scores extra points. Both goddesses strike the bullseye, but Belldandy manages to hit it first, thus winning the competition.
Peorth summons a Bennu Bird—which can show memories from the past—and has it sit on Belldandy's head so she can remember what had happened in the past.
In Heaven, Peorth and Belldandy meet to work together on the Yggdrasil system for the first time. Today, they're assigned to debug the system, and Belldandy notes that today's bug is tricky. As they continue working, they're unable to isolate the bug before it merges with a virus and attacks Peorth. When Peorth wakes up later, Belldandy tells her that she was able to quarantine and erase the virus thanks to her.
Peorth couldn't believe she could allow herself to get disabled by a bug, but what really shocked her was that the debugging was officially recorded as a team effort, which Peorth interprets as Belldandy pitying her. In the present, Peorth asks Belldandy why she didn't take all of the credit for herself, accusing her of having smug hypocrisy, but Belldandy is relieved to know what had happened. As she explains to Peorth, she was only able to isolate the virus after it had entered her, so the debugging was a team effort between them.
Urd realizes that this whole episode was caused solely by Peorth's paranoia but hopes that now things will be quieter around there. Of course, Peorth proves her wrong later, as she simply goes back to literally hogging Keiichi's for herself.
