Skuld accepts that Banpei is in love with the Welcoming Girl and wants to help them be together.

Summary

Skuld witnesses Banpei kissing the Welcoming Girl and is disgusted and disbelieving that he could do such a thing. She uses water teleportation to appear home, but she's further grossed out when she realizes she appeared through a bucket of dirty water Belldandy was using to clean. They then go outside where Skuld tells Belldandy what she saw, but while Skuld is convinced that Banpei has a bug, Belldandy tells her that her programming is perfect and mentions that people have a special side that they only show to those they love, such as herself whenever she's with Sentaro. More importantly, Belldandy believes that Banpei is alive.

Skuld goes to her room and thinks about what Belldandy told her, feeling guilty about treating Banpei simply as a thing instead of a person. Banpei suddenly returns home, but Skuld accidentally bumps her face on his hat when she tries hugging him, and Urd appears too, not too happy that she completely forgot about leaving her standing in front of the store and unable to move, and ready to punish her with lightning crackling in her hand.

The next day, Chihiro calls Keiichi to work on his day off, leaving Skuld to transport the Welcoming Girl from the store to the house. She rides Banpei to the store where they find that it's gone, and the old lady explains that it finally broke to where she couldn't fix it and junked it at a scrapyard. Aware that items at the scrapyard are destroyed in the afternoon, Skuld races to the scrapyard, but they are too late, as they see one of the Welcoming Girl's legs hanging in a pile of junk in a big claw.

Back home, Banpei doesn't take the loss well and draws a big tear on his face to show how sad he is. Skuld tells Belldandy that she could build another Welcoming Girl for Banpei, but Belldandy says that she can't replace the person Banpei loves, no matter how good of a copy it is, and that she should let him mourn and remember her as a person would. At that moment, Keiichi arrives home from work and he casually complains about how Chirhio made him show up just so he could fix up a mechanical girl that she fished out of the scrapyard, one which said "Welcome! Thank you for coming!".

Skuld and Belldandy realize that Keiichi is talking about Banpei's love, and when they head to Whirlwind. Sure enough, they find the same robot which Chihiro has now purposed for welcoming people to her shop. Chihiro is reluctant to give it over to them since she finds it cute, but Skuld offers to pay her the money she didn't spend on the sale and pay the rest with her "own body", which shocks Chihiro. After Belldandy takes Skuld aside to tell her what she meant to say, Chihiro decides to give the Welcoming Girl to them, as she admits she's defenseless against kids like Skuld. After the doll is brought home, Urd and Skuld both feel like they're going crazy as it constantly says her welcoming line, but Skuld is nonetheless happy for Banpei.

Meanwhile, Chihiro didn't agree to give up the Welcoming Girl without a condition and she makes Keiichi take her to the scrapyard to help find something else she can use for the shop. Keiichi scoops up the foot (the same one Skuld and Banpei saw earlier) and the other parts of a mechanical doll and offers to fix it up for her, but Chihiro scolds him for his bad taste and reminds him that they're not leaving until they find something she likes!
