Removing the bonds that restrict her power, Belldandy attempts to rescue both Keiichi and Urd.
Summary
Hearing a nearby phone ring, Skuld digs it out of the rubble of the temple with a bomb and hands it to Belldandy. The caller is the Lord, who excuses Belldandy's failure to notify him about Urd becoming the Lord of Terror, but he says that he will strike her down himself! Belldandy pleads with him that Urd is not evil and pledges to destroy the Ultimate Destruction Program. Hanging up, Belldandy admits to Skuld that she is not powerful enough to face Urd, not without taking off her seal. Skuld warns Belldandy that breaking her seal is a serious offense, but Belldandy convinces her to help regardless.
At Urd's lair, she is unimpressed with Keiichi as a hostage but tells him that he will nonetheless be a witness to her destruction of the Universe. Keiichi says out loud "Not the Ultimate Destruction Program!" but as it turns out, Urd doesn't actually know what that is and she uses magic to read his mind and find out. Unfortunately, Keiichi doesn't actually know what it is either besides its name. However, as Urd yawns from wasting magic, the Mao Za Haxon urn activates, having accepted the yawn as the correct password for the tutorial for the Ultimate Destruction Program.
Skuld finishes the magic circle necessary for Belldandy to break her seal, her left earring acting as a surge protector designed to restrain her power that would otherwise be enough to destroy the Earth. Belldandy performs a ritual that shatters the seal and changes the marking on her forehead. While Belldandy is unable to find Urd with her newfound powers, she can still sense via gravitational waves whenever she uses her powers, and she vows to find her.
Urd completes the first lesson of the Ultimate Destruction Program tutorial by creating a meteor shower over Earth that hits a TV satellite (to Sayoko's frustration, as she was watching a car race). Unbeknownst to them, however, Belldandy uses her power to burn all up all of the meteorites in the upper atmosphere, and she now knows exactly where Urd is. Skuld asks how she will turn Urd back to normal, and Belldandy explains that the Lord of Terror shall return to the Earth through the medium of an ancient, evil urn. All of a sudden, the sky goes completely dark, the work of Urd as she completes the second lesson of the tutorial.
Belldandy telepathically communicates with Keiichi and tells him to open up a mirror for her so she can get to where he is. Keiichi takes out his BMW keychain, the back of which is chrome-plated, and Belldandy immediately appears to Urd and Mara's surprise. Before they can react, Belldandy shoots a blast of magic at the Mao Za Haxon urn, believing that destroying it will free Urd from the spell that she's under.
Urd is unharmed, but the urn is about to break. Belldandy asks Urd to come home with her, but the urn speaks and reveals that everything up to this point was predetermined according to the programming code and now, the Ultimate Destruction Program is directly linked with the Lord of Terror. As the urn shatters, a bright light shines and Urd, Mara, and Keiichi disappear as Urd reveals her "true spirit" and disappears into the sky.
Skuld arrives to carry her exhausted sister. As sunlight breaks through again, Belldandy still hopes that she can save Urd, but Skuld isn't so sure, believing they may already be too late.
