Mara accidently loses her memory right after transforming Megumi into a car, and Keiichi, Belldandy, and Urd have to restore it since only she knows the password to turns Megumi back to normal.

Summary

Mara wakes up in a coffin, having rested for a while after being forced by Urd to dance for an exceedingly long time. She wonders what day it is, but remarks that it won't matter for Keiichi, since she's going to make his life hell as long as she's around.

It's January 2nd, and Keiichi is enjoying the quiet New Year's celebration at the temple. Urd tries to get him and Belldandy to play a card game where whatever the card says will come true, but Keiichi stops her, not wanting a repeat of Life Sugoroku Special. He also wonders what's keeping Megumi, since she's supposed to be visiting.

Megumi parks her motorcycle just outside the temple. She wonders why her brother wanted her to bring good luck charms to him since he already lives in a temple, and she also wishes she was in a car instead of riding a motorcycle in the cold. Mara overhears this and grants Megumi's wish in a twisted fashion by putting her in a car by turning her into one! After she does so, she is about to go and turn the others into vehicles when she accidentally steps on Megumi's hayama—a good luck arrow—and is shocked by energy. She attempts to grab onto something to balance herself, but she accidentally touches the temple and shocks herself again.

Now worried about Megumi being late, Keiichi and Belldandy go outside to investigate and are surprised at the car they find—a Porsche 356 Speedster. They hear Megumi's voice, and Belldandy realizes that Megumi's spirit is emanating from the car. She uses magic to allow Megumi to move the car's individual parts. They then discover Mara nearby complaining about head pain, but when Keiichi asks her if she turned Megumi into a car, she cordially greets them as if they've just met.

Mara is taken inside, and Belldandy realizes that she succumbed to karmic shock from touching both the hayama and the temple and lost her memory. Mara apologizes for whatever inconvenience she caused them, and Keiichi almost wants to let Mara stay without her memory, but Belldandy says that's not an option; Mara is the only person who knows that password that can lift the spell she put on Megumi.

To restore Mara's memory, Urd suggests they hit her on the head, but Keiichi stops her before she swings a huge mallet at Mara. Belldandy suggests that Mara either holds her breath in or drinks a glass of water very quickly, but Keiichi reminds her that those are remedies for hiccups, not amnesia. Keiichi himself suggests that they give Mara the same karmic shock again and see what happens, but when they poke her with the hayama, it has no effect since Mara probably developed an immunity to it. Mara again apologizes for the inconvenience she's caused and says that if it weren't for Megumi's condition, they should just let her fend for herself. Belldandy hugs Mara and says she won't abandon her, making Keiichi slightly jealous.

Urd creates a patented potion that will supposedly cure Mara of her amnesia, but Mara screams and runs away when Urd tries giving it to her. Belldandy and Keiichi tell Megumi what happened and hop inside her to find Mara. A miniature Urd also tags along because the car is only a two-seater, leading Megumi to believe that she and Belldandy are witches like from a TV she watched. As they drive, Megumi tells them that they should get good luck charms stronger than her hayama to use on Mara, and they drive to Otaki's place since he has lots of those. However, they have to spot at a gas station to fuel Megumi up, and she insists on getting premium fuel.

Mara sits alone in a park and contemplates if it would be better if she never regained her memory. Belldandy comes along and tells her that she must remember for both her and Megumi's sake and throws Otaki's tanuki statue at her. Mara experiences another karmic shock and regains her memories, but laughs at their expense for thinking that just because they restored her memory that she would be willing to undo Megumi's spell. Of course, they weren't counting on that, and Belldandy, Urd, and Keiichi surround Mara with several other good luck charms that convince her to give up.

After Megumi is restored to normal, she wakes up and believes that her experience as a car was just a weird dream. Meanwhile, Otaki is mad at Keiichi after learning his tanuki statue was broken, and Mara takes another nap in her coffin, figuring that she's safer there.
